Christmas Newsletter

Hi All,

With two weeks to go till Christmas, my annual Xmas message on behalf of all the Staff, Coaches and Committee follows.

It’s been a hard year for all, due to the pandemic, but I feel the worst is over and lucky for us we live in this great nation of ours, that has limited the problems both with the pandemic and economically.

To this I thank you all, for having the trust in our organisation to do the right thing for the well being of our staff and members.

It was a hard decision cancelling the Schools Competitions, both Regional and National, but at the end it was the right decision.

Our season started very late due to COVID 19 concerns and extension of outdoor and our numbers across Central Coast and Newcastle were affected and down 30%.

Going forward, we have survived and are confident that next year our numbers will grow even more.

To this extent and due to a lot of enquiries and grass roots teams U6’s to U9’s missing out, we will be offering an Autumn competition, from 22nd February to Mid April (10 week competition plus finals), at Centres that are available. Wallsend Centre will have competition’s on a Monday and Wednesday as will Genesis in Newcastle on a Wednesday and Thursday. AFC Awaba Futsal will also be having a competition, in Autumn both Juniors and Seniors.

Your current registration /insurance, will enable you to continue to play at any Centre you wish, please make enquiries direct to us or your Centre in regards to these competitions.

A record number of 40 teams, from ages 8 to adults, boys and girls, representing Newcastle, Lake Macquarie,  Hunter Valley and Central Coast will be attending Futsal Nationals in January and we wish them all the best.

Our Gol Brasil Newcastle Titans and Central Coast Strikers Academy Program, was disrupted this year, but will be available in a 10 session, one and half hour program, which will be taken by Academy Coaches David Yager and Nathan Baker, together with some other Senior Coaches.

These sessions will be organised to be undertaken without interference to outdoor commitments.

We have had a lot of enquiries re Outdoor clubs joining us in a Winter FUTSAL Academy program, that will enhance their player’s football abilities.

We will be advising you through your club if they take up the program. (ANY OUTDOOR CLUB COMMITTEE PERSON WANTING MORE INFORMATION PLEASE EMAIL OR PHONE US).

Of course those of you, whose club doesn’t have the program, will still be able to join our direct program with the lads.

It has been proven by Sydney teams and our own senior team that Academies make you a better player and we would encourage all players U8 to U11 especially, to do the course if possible. Unfortunately, time does not allow us to fully prepare our teams for Nationals and it has been proven by Sydney SAP teams that train all year and even our lads once they have three or so years behind them of doing our Academies, that most will become better players.

For Grass Roots this year, we will be having clinics in April and July and the School Regionals Program for Primary and High Schools will be definitely back in May/June, so keep an eye on our website and Northern NSW Facebook page.

On behalf of the NNSW Committee, the Managers of our Centres, Coaches, Carynne and I, we wish that you and your family have a wonderful and safe Christmas and look forward to a brighter and better 2021.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards
