UPDATE FROM CEO GEORGE POULOS, ON BEHALF OF NNSW FUTSAL ASSOCIATION.
WELCOME TO OUR EXISTING PLAYERS, SUPPORTERS AND NEW INTERESTED PARTIES!
It’s been a few hard months for a lot of you, but things are starting to get back to some normality, and I know a lot of you have been itching to come back and kick a ball. Unfortunately, some winter outdoor competitions have been cancelled and some others, extended through to end of October. So, a lot of kids have missed out on playing their winter competition.
So, today I would like to inform you of what NNSW Futsal will be offering, to ALL our current members and any new members that would like to try our popular sport, while also introducing our new website www.nnswfutsal.com.au. All of our clubs and centres are ready to go, and in fact, clubs like Macquarie Sharks, who will play out of Macquarie College on Lake Road Wallsend, are looking to join our network. And all our clubs are COVID 19 ready.
Some clubs will be having to enforce a little bit of inconvenience in the next few months (mainly to do with the spectators, but hopefully by the start of competition on 31st August things will be back to some normality).
Please, look to our website to see how you can register this year. We have commissioned Adline Sports Pty Ltd to implement a SPAWTZ Program to handle most of our affiliated club’s registration, as well as manage all communications, scores, draws etc. in conjunction with our centre managers. Final touches are being handled at present to take you to step by step on how to register.
Our website will also tell you all about us, clubs and their location, cost, the rules, the committee, referee opportunities, coaching opportunities as well as having a link to our Facebook and all the other club’s Facebook pages.
News and information will be placed on the website, and Northern NSW Futsal Facebook page and it would be very appreciated if you share this with your friends, your local soccer club and especially anyone that may have been left not kicking a ball this season.
Because of the many teams that cannot play outdoor soccer this year and those that will only play limited soccer, we will be having some Futsal Gala days during the whole month of August for the ages of 6 to 11, where ANYONE can enter a team. You don’t have to be an existing player, and you don’t have to be registered. Just make up a team and come and try this exciting new sport and see how much fun it is for all ages.
Hopefully, when you participate, you will want to join a club near you and join the many regulars that play each year. Each team will be guaranteed four games in the day, and it will cost as little as $6.15 per person a game (based on eight players).
More information, including where, price and how to book your spot will be announced in the next few days, on our website and Facebook page. So keep an eye out for it, and as mentioned, please help spread the word.
Newcastle Titans club SENIOR WINTER COMPETITION at Howzat/Genesis will recommence on Wednesday 8th July. Teams will be informed of COVID 19 rules and their times, direct from Futsal management.
SCHOOL NATIONALS STATE TEAMS
Our Schools trials for State teams, Newcastle and Central Coast, will be held over the next week. All participants will be informed with the times and venues.
As mentioned, our clubs will be starting the summer competition on 31st August, and all teams must be registered by then. Registration cost for juniors and seniors is $55.00 per player for the whole year and includes AFA admin, NNSW Futsal admin and insurance.
Shirts and game fees refer to your club.
Please note ACTIVE KIDS VOUCHERS will NOT be taken for club games or registration but can be used for School and Club Nationals or Academies.
Our Newcastle Titans Gol Brasil Academy, unfortunately, will not be taking place this year. The Academy coaches, David Yager and Nathan Baker, who appear on our Facebook clip, have been busy over the last few months, finishing off our Newcastle Titans Gol Brasil Academy courses which will be ready to introduce to our teams, Newcastle Titans and our newly formed Central Coast Thunder.
These courses have been a work in progress for several years and put NNSW Futsal at the front line of Futsal development.
A coaching curriculum for all our coaches has been finalised, along with a new course for beginners and update for existing coaches, will be available for all those interested. We will be holding these two coaching classes for existing and any new coaches on a Saturday and Sunday 29th and 30th of AUGUST (come either day) from 9.00 am to 4 pm. Cost is only $30.00 to cover court cost and to be insured for the 12 months.More information, including how to book your spot will be released in coming weeks, on the website and Facebook page. YOU MUST attend a course if you are taking a representative team to any Nationals.
Finally, due to NPL playing through into November and the impact this may have on our planned SAPL and Futsal Youth League, we have cancelled the event for this year. State teams for Club Nationals will be chosen sometime in October. You must be registered and playing at a club competition during the week to be eligible.
Coaches need to apply for positions!
The world has changed somewhat due to the pandemic, and I do feel for those that are doing it tough. We are all looking to get back to some form of normality and enjoy this great game of Futsal, whether, for fun, fitness or to better oneself through the various pathways offered.
The announcement that the Football Women’s World Cup is to be held In Australia and New Zealand has most of us excited as the round ball game continues to grow and delight the young and old, boys and girls.
In finishing, NNSW Futsal and its member clubs are ready to go, and we sincerely thank you for your continued support.
