NSW State Seniors (Southern Futsal League)

An exciting new State Futsal League will continue this year.  NSW State Southern Futsal League with an NSW Northern State league to be advised in conjunction with AFA clubs in the future.


The NSW State Futsal League will be an Elite Futsal competition provided by NNSW Futsal who, having been established for over 15 years and affiliated to Australian Futsal Association.      Home to the Newcastle Steeler’s, Macquarie Sharks, Hunter Valley Storm, Central Coast Strikers, Port Stephens Dolphins and Central Coast Lightning junior clubs.

These clubs, in turn, are providing pathways to the NEWCASTLE TITANS, HUNTER VALLEY WARRIORS and the CENTRAL COAST THUNDER SENIOR TEAMS.

The NNSW State League will provide competition for Men, Youth Men and Women on a home and away basis.

The Southern League will allow anyone from south of Newcastle and in Sydney to join NNSW Futsal and as such have pathways to all offered by AFA while still maintaining their own identities and local competitions.

The competition will be run on Sundays, starting Ist week in October (EXCEPT for 2020 where games will be played in November through to December, three games at every one home.)  Twelve rounds and one final series, TOP TWO at a venue to be decided by NNSW Futsal, closer to the time.

Matches: All matches will be held under the most recent and officially published version of the Futsal Laws of the Game published by AFA, Regulation, Codes and Directives respectively.

ALL senior matches will be played on International sized courts: 20-minute halves, three -minute half time and 45 minutes time slots.

Your cost to be advised to you by your club does include payment of court hire, referees, (fully accredited from NNSW and NSW), allowance for trophies and NNSW Administration cost.

Newcastle and Central coast teams must be registered with NNSW. Clubs will provide strips.

The NSW/NNSW State Futsal ASD League has also been formed to further enhance the player development pathways with AFA, who already have in place, world-class tournaments and WORLD Cup fixtures for the elite player in BOTH GIRLS and BOYS. We will be offering to clubs that come on board and register with NNSW Futsal the opportunity to send teams or players, to represent Sydney at the AFA Nationals held each year.

In addition, all new clubs that become members will be eligible to attend junior State Titles, to be held in Newcastle for ages 8 to 14, Boys and Girls in coming years
