Futsal Update letter to all our Club members, Supporters and Futsal friends in our various regions (Newcastle, Macquarie, Hunter Valley, Port Stephens and Central Coast),
I hope this email finds you and your family in good health. Following a lot of confused enquiries on our Facebook pages, we have decided to send you this update, on what is happening at a Local, State and National level, in Futsal.
Firstly, let us reassure everyone, we have, as do all the centres, schools etc. COVID 19 plans in place, for the best welfare of our players and staff.
Secondly, our summer competition for ALL clubs has been delayed, to start in the last week of September (week starting 21st September) before school holidays. This friendly round will allow players who have problems with registering and those who want to purchase uniforms, the chance to do so. Also, those who cannot have their times changed to suit outdoor training do not need to attend.
The two weeks gap for School holidays will also serve as a period for clothing to come in, and even less time for any conflict between the codes. That leaves two weeks for NPL teams or SAP teams to negotiate, to catch up times in their respective competitions. Each centre will still provide a 14 to 15 round competition. So officially 1st round will be week starting 12th October 2020.
The Elite League for men and women will and MUST start the week of the 21st September and will only play for ten rounds and a Semi/Grand final. These will be played on a Monday night at Wallsend for the men and Broadmeadow for the women.
The NNSW /Central Coast State teams selections for all ages including youth and seniors will be held over the 1st weekend back from School holidays, on the weekend of the 17th and 18th of October 2020. So, one can see why we must have your team registration in as soon as possible, especially if you wish to play Representative Futsal. NO team registrations will be accepted after 26th September, and NO player registration to be in a team will be taken after 10th October 2020.
NEW WEBSITE
Please, look to our website, www.nnswfutsal.com.au to see how you can register this year. We have commissioned Adline Sports Pty Ltd, to implement a SPAWTZ Program to handle most of our affiliated Club’s registration, as well as manage all communications, scores, draws etc. in conjunction with our centre managers. There have been some hiccups, but at this stage, all we ask is one person register your team, and the rest join that team. We will then be able to allocate times and create draws, and as mentioned above, we can sort any problems with any team on the week of the friendlies.
Our website will also tell you all about us, our clubs and their location (including our new Club at Macquarie College for all you folks out Edgeworth, Wallsend and Cardiff way), cost, the rules, the committee, referee opportunities, coaching opportunities as well as having a link to our Facebook and all the other Club’s Facebook pages.
Academy /Representative/ Clinic (Ages 8 to 16 boys and girl)
Due to their being no Schools Futsal Nationals this year, we will be inviting by direct email and putting on Facebook, to all past Representative players wishing to participate at Club Nationals this year, to join the School Representatives players, in a Training Academy Clinic. This will run over three days (only two hours per day) by Senior experienced Executive Coach David Yager and others, during the first week of the next school holidays, from Monday 28th to Wednesday 30th September. The course is also available to all accredited Coaches who may be available to learn
from the more experienced coaches.
The sessions will be held at Macquarie College, Wallsend and are available for all Central Coast, and Newcastle regions registered players. If for some reason you do not get your invite and are interested, send a request for more information on School Holiday’s Training Academy to .
Active Kids Vouchers.
Can only be used for activities such as Academies, State and Nationals competitions. Not for Club Futsal.
The Future
The world has changed somewhat due to the pandemic, and we have had to change slightly how we do things for the well being of all or members and staff. We have had the completion of our winter competition and successful Gala days using sound Covid 19 practises. We are all looking to get back to some form of normality and enjoy this great game of Futsal, whether, for fun, fitness or to better oneself through the various pathways offered. More and more clubs are becoming aware of how this great game of ours can improve the playing skills of players from grassroots to the elite. Thus the reason we have delayed our start to Club Nationals abolished the State competition (for this year only) and have provided what we can to make things easier for you.
In November, a Free seminar, Futsal vs Football will be organised in Conjunction with FFA Coaches Association member Advanced Football Academy and conducted at a venue in Newcastle for any outdoor Club Executive or Coach to come along. If you are interested and your outdoor Club did not receive invites sent last week, you may enquire again for more information by emailing .
In finishing, NNSW Futsal and its member clubs sincerely thank you for your continued support.
